Steps

Person stepSomeone fills, reviews or approves; the case waits in their inbox.
Automatic stepThe system calls a registered service and moves on by the result.
DecisionThe route is picked from the case data — amount, product, score.
Split and mergeSeveral checks start at once; the case continues when all are done.
Start and final stepsWhere a case begins and where it closes.

Moving between steps

Actions as buttonsSubmit, Approve, Reject, Send back — each action is a route.
Conditions on routesA route is taken only when its condition on the data is true.
Compulsory remarksRequire a comment for chosen actions, such as Reject.
Send backReturn a case to an earlier step with the reason attached.
Buttons by roleLimit an action to certain roles.

People

By roleAnyone with the role can take the case.
Named personA specific user is assigned.
Shared queueA team picks cases from a common queue.
Chosen in the formThe owner comes from a field, such as the assigned investigator.
